Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner wins best visual effects and cinematography Oscars

Denis Villeneuve was not nominated for best director, and Blade Runner 2049 wasn’t nominated for best film, but the movie did take home two Oscars on Sunday night, for visual effects and cinematography. Winners included Montrealer Richard Hoover, who gave a shout-out to the city during the visual effects acceptance speech.
Hoover is the visual effects supervisor with Framestore, which did about a third of the effects for the movie and almost all of that work was based in Montreal.
