Coeur de pirate opens up about body-image disorder
Quebec singer-songwriter Coeur de pirate has opened up about having body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), to encourage fans to take charge of their mental health.
BDD is a preoccupation with an imagined defect in one’s physical appearance — for example, a pimple no one else can see, or the perception that one’s nose is too big and requires plastic surgery.
