City engineers call for creation of 'engineer-general' to examine projects

Montreal should create the post of an “engineer-general” to ensure that major projects will be carried out according to professional norms, the union representing the city’s science professionals said Tuesday.
The Syndicat professionnel des scientifiques à pratique exclusive de Montréal (SPSPEM), would also like to see the creation of an infrastructure management group that would minimize inconveniences for citizens.
