Canadiens trade Nathan Beaulieu to Buffalo for third-round draft pick

The Canadiens have traded defenceman Nathan Beaulieu to the Buffalo Sabres for a third-round pick in the 2017 NHL draft, the team announced Saturday afternoon.
The trade comes just over an hour before the deadline to move players before the league imposes a roster freeze ahead of the expansion draft for the new Vegas Golden Knights team. That team will reveal its picks on Wednesday.
Beaulieu had 28 points (4-24) in 74 games last season. He added one assist in five playoff games.
