Dreams of preserving the McConnell Woods were dashed last week when the city of Dorval announced it had been rebuffed in its bid to buy the majestic property.
 The city had offered $15.1 million to buy the 540,000 square foot property, which includes prime waterfront on Lac St-Louis, but that was not enough to seal the deal.
McConnell Woods, located at 1200 Lakeshore Dr., is evaluated at about $11 million.
