Early blast of winter hits Airdrie with over 20 centimetres of snow

Winter has come early in Airdrie, as the city experienced heavy snowfall of over 20 centimetres on Tues., Oct. 2.
Driving conditions on nearby highways and within the city were extremely poor throughout the day, causing vehicles to collide and end up stranded in ditches along the roadways.
There were 14 collisions within the city, 10 in rural areas, and nine on Highway 2 just outside of Airdrie.
