Windy conditions expected to increase fire behaviour at Summerland’s Bald Range blaze

Overnight weather conditions were set to pose a challenge for wildfire crews at the Bald Range blaze in Summerland on Monday night and into Tuesday morning, Aug. 10 and 11.
The overnight shift saw a total of 63 personnel of firefighters, structural protection crews and apparatus on scene battling the blaze as westerly downslope winds of up to 25 km/h were expected to make the fire’s behaviour more challenging.
As of Tuesday morning, all issued evacuation orders and alerts remain in place.
