UPDATE: Quilpituk Creek wildfire being held, area being assessed before residents can return home

UPDATE 8:23 a.m.
The Quilpituk Creek wildfire is being held, according to BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).
Being held means that “based on fuel and weather conditions and resource availability, to remain within the current perimeter, control line or boundary.”
At this time, all evacuation orders and alerts remain in place. However, the Central Okanagan Emergency Management EOC will be deploying “a rapid damage assessment team to assess readiness for re-entry.”
