Train strikes vehicle at rail crossing near Mission

A train struck a vehicle at a railway crossing east of Mission early Tuesday morning (Aug. 4).
According to a social media post from Mission RCMP, the driver exited before the train struck the vehicle and wasn’t injured.
The detachment responded to the crash at the Lougheed Highway railway crossing near Hawkins Pickle Road at approximately 1:30 a.m.
Mission RCMP and CPKC Railway personnel investigated as crews worked to clear the tracks.
The collision closed the highway, but it later reope
