Structures, calves lost in devastating fire at landmark Sicamous dairy

The owners of D Dutchmen Dairy in Sicamous experienced “a farmer’s worst nightmare” early Thursday morning when a fire ripped through their barn resulting in the loss of the structure and about 40 calves.
The fire started at approximately 1 a.m. on Sept. 24, and according to Bianca Colonna (née Dewitt) it was “fully engulfed in 10 minutes.”
