Snap provincial election called in B.C. for Oct. 24, byelection cancelled

British Columbia is headed to the polls for a snap election after NDP Leader David Eby dissolved the legislature on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
He justified the move by saying the province faces an “existential moment” as U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs damage B.C.’s economy.
“Join me in saying, ‘Hell no!’ to Trump and to his politics for British Columbia,” Eby said during his Tuesday afternoon election announcement in Victoria.
