Counterfeit money found circulating in Lower Mainland community

In the last month, Maple Ridge RCMP has received at least eight separate reports of counterfeit cash circulating in the city.
Counterfeit Canadian bank notes of $50 and $100 were used at various businesses, most of which spotted the fraudulent money and reported it to police.
In some cases, however, the business was left on the hook for the loss of income.
The Maple Ridge RCMP is now warning that it is a criminal offense to knowingly possess or use counterfeit money.
And, businesses that accept
