Area Restriction Order issued in response to Ainslie Creek wildfire

While the historic Alexandra Lodge in the Fraser Canyon appears to have been spared from the Ainslie Creek wildfire, BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) reports that the fire has moved downslope towards Highway 1 south of the Alexandra Tunnel.
Minimal growth was observed in other parts of the fire on Monday (Aug. 17). As of Tuesday morning the fire was estimated at 65,310 hectares.
Improved visibility on Tuesday will allow for increased aviation support in areas of difficult terrain that are inaccessible
