Abbotsford school receives $60K literacy grant

An Abbotsford school is among six across the province and 50 across Canada that are receiving literacy grants from the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation.
Chief Dan George Middle School will receive $60,000 as part of $1.8 million being distributed across the nation this year.
The grants are used to help school libraries purchase much-needed books to replenish their shelves.
The foundation says this year’s funding is up $800,000 from 2025 and will impact 17,000 students.
