Abbotsford fire risk raised to high as temperatures skyrocket
As temperatures continue to climb, the City of Abbotsford has now raised the fire danger rating from moderate to high.
This fire danger rating is used when authorities deem forest fuels to be very dry and pose significant risks for new fires to start and spread quickly.
As a result, open burning and industrial activities become restricted, with an open burning ban already in place from May 1 to Sept. 30.
