15,000 people in B.C. under wildfire evacuation orders, alerts

B.C.’s Emergency Management Minister Kelly Greene says evacuation orders and alerts over the last few days have been changing hourly amid a “dynamic” wildfire situation.
As of 9 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 4), there are 37 evacuation orders impacting approximately 8,000 people and 7,300 properties and 37 evacuation alerts impacting approximately 7,100 people and 3,800 properties, Greene said during a provincial update on wildfires.
