12 years to life: Decision awaits in 2021 Naramata manslaughter sentencing

Ekene Anigbo’s defence lawyers said he is on the right path to rehabilitation as they recommended a sentence of 12 to 14 years for the former gang member’s manslaughter conviction.
Anigbo appeared in B.C. Supreme Court in Kelowna on Oct. 8 for the second day of his sentencing hearing. The 27-year-old was convicted of the lesser charge of manslaughter on Aug. 14 after standing trial for first-degree murder in the death of Naramata’s Kathleen Richardson.
