Sangamo, Pfizer Partner on Gene Therapy for ALS, FTLD

Sangamo Therapeutics will partner with Pfizer to develop a potential gene therapy to treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) linked to mutations of the C9ORF72 gene, the companies said today.The collaboration could yield up to $162 million-plus for Sangamo, which would contribute its zinc finger protein transcription factors (ZFP-TFs) technology to the partnership.The companies are seeking to address part of a spectrum of neurodegenerative disorders
