Nup98 Protein Found to Play Critical Role in Blood Cell Differentiation
Scientists at the Salk Institute say they have discovered in mouse cells a previously unknown function for the nup98 protein. Not only does it help control the movement of molecules in and out of the cell nucleus, nup98 also helps enable immature blood stem cells differentiate into specialized mature cell types.
