Large number of Americans' metadata stolen by Chinese hacking group Salt Typhoon, US officials say

A large number of Americans' data has been stolen in a telecoms attack allegedly carried out by a Chinese hacking group dubbed "Salt Typhoon," and according to one senator, the extent and depth of the hack is "absolutely mind-boggling".
