Dollar falls below 70 US cents on back of weak GDP figures

Treasurer Joe Hockey says the latest GDP figures are in line with budget expectations, despite them confirming a sharp decline in economic growth and driving the Australian dollar decisively below 70 US cents for the first time in six years.
