About $50b wiped off ASX, Aussie dollar hits fresh five-year low

The Australian stock market suffered a broad sell-off on Monday as markets around the region tumbled in response to the US imposing steep tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China. The Australian dollar dropped below 61 US cents.
