Why Does the ACT Have a Navigator for VAD but Not Palliative Care?

When someone is nearing the end of their life, the question should be: how can we care for this person well? For families facing terminal illness, that means accessible palliative care, practical support and someone to help them navigate the health system. Yet in the ACT, there is a striking difference in the support available for voluntary assisted dying and palliative care.
