Horse Pulling Carriage Dies on Melbourne Street

A horse who was forced to pull a carriage through Melbourne collapsed and died on the street.Photos taken by an eyewitness and shared with Melbourne Against Horse-Drawn Carriages show the dead horse covered with a blanket on the road while still harnessed to the carriage. The dead animal’s carriage mate was left to stand beside the body.
RSPCA Victoria is investigating. Meanwhile, Unique Carriage Hire issued a statement saying that it believes the horse died of a heart attack.
